My Birthday Project

This month, PlugIn2God is focusing on witnessing for Christ. Incidentally, I am going to be celebrating my sixteenth birthday this month.

Now typically, sixteenth birthdays are huge extravaganzas that rival even the best weddings. In failing to come up with something "big" or "exciting", I decided to forget about the party. I decided to undertake a mission project for this month. Here are the details:

  • I am asking for Bibles, copies of Steps to Christ, and monetary donations.
  • The literature may be new or used; the only condition is that the "used" is usable and in good condition.
  • The material will be given to one of the following organizations: Maranatha Volunteers International; Bibles Unbound; or African Youth Ministries.  .
  • Donations will be accepted for the entire month of September.
  • It will help me to complete my Literature Evangelism honor for Pathfinders.
  • It will help you begin your journey as a gospel-giving Christian!
  • To find out where to send the donations, email me at GabrielleBaker@about.me and I will send you the address.
I am really excited about this project, and I ask sincerely for your prayers. My biggest surprise really is that God in His foresight and Providence most definitely planned for us to be focusing on witnessing this month, my birth month. So cool! He truly is good. Again, thank you for your aid in my endeavor.

Here are the results.

The Great Controversy: Whose Side Are You On?

Note: The following article is appropriate for all ages, and should be read with family and friends. Before our earth was created, a war began and is still going on in our world today. This war is called   the Great Controversy . The word  controversy  (pronounced " khan -tro-verse-ee") is taken from the Latin word  controversus  (pronounced "khan-tro- were -sus")   meaning disputable or, more literally, turned against . Between whom is this controversy? It is between Jesus Christ and His enemy, the Devil. So who is turned against whom? The Devil is turned against Jesus and is opposing Him. And what exactly is being disputed? The Devil thinks that Jesus is not as powerful as He claims to be. "And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God , command this stone that it be made bread" (Luke 4:3 KJV). " And the LORD said unto Satan, 'Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none...

Absorb God's Word

Recently, I read this quote from "Spurgeon: Sermons on Proverbs" by Charles H. Spurgeon - "He has asked the Spirit of God to make him acquainted with divine truth, so that he has not only read of it but he has communed with it, and now he lives upon it, eats it, drinks it, receives it into the inward parts of his soul, and retains it there as a living and incorruptible seed. Now a man who does this year after year is the kind of man who, by God's grace, will take fast-hold of instruction, and will prove a faithful witness for his Lord."
