The Word of God

In family worship, we have reading from the book of Ezekiel. There are a lot of deep and awesome truths found in that book, some of which unlock other controversies that we have yet to understand. Throughout the coming weeks, I will write about the book of Ezekiel based on various points my family members bring out each night. I pray that you will blessed. How many men were commissioned by God in Ezekiel 9? There are six with swords; but among them was a man in linen with an inkhorn at his side... In Revelation 1, Jesus is said to be walking among the candlesticks. But is that humanly possible? (We are allowed to consider the human element of the Son of God because John says, "one like unto the Son of man," a reference for the Son of God incarnate or made flesh.) Jesus would not be in the candlesticks or be a candlestick Himself; no, He would be in the general area of the candlesticks - in their presence, so to speak. The same can be said of Him in Ezekiel ...

"Taste and See Smoothies" - The Showcase

Every now and again, it is good to post some vivid colors and remind the world that veggies smoothies really are great. There is a critic for every cure, as I like to say. (Disclaimer: Absolutely no guarantee is provided, by this blog or anywhere else, that supports veggie smoothies as a cure or remedy for any disease.) In any case, I just thought that I would share some of the delightful smoothies that we have made over the past few months...

Apologies.

This quarter -- July to September, 2012 -- PlugIn2God put the focus on prophecy. "History Revealed" covers that end which has been revealed by God before it has even taken place. When John writes it, hardly any of the events of Revelation had taken place. Sure, five emperors of Rome had reigned (Revelation 17:9-11); but that is only one of the few key aspects of the book that had already occurred. Now, to us readers in the twenty-first century, many of the events have taken place; and we await very little of the conclusion of the fulfillment of the prophecy. I would, however, like to apologize. Unlike the first two quarters, the third quarter did not provide a study booklet. It did not provide supplementary material. The web page was not even updated. There were many factors that caused this. But ultimately, Satan stepped to ensure that the correct material was given. But God is faithful. "For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth enduret...

Pink Lemonade Popsicles!

With the heat wave passing through the Eastern United States, everyone is looking for ways to cool off. So  I came up with this homemade popsicle that is great for anytime of the day! My family is working on being careful with food combinations so that we can have prime digestion after each meal. One of the things we look out for is combining fruits with vegetables. It is alright to have citrus fruits with veggie meals (oranges, grapefruits, lemons, kumquats, etc.); but eating other fruits with vegetables can cause fermentation and prolonged digestion. This is because fruits digest rather quickly, compared to vegetables; and the broken down sugars will begin to ferment if it sits in the stomach acid for too long. Enough with the yucky A&P stuff (anatomy and physiology).  For the stated reasons, this recipe uses... BEETS! Hint to the chef: don't tell anyone until after they are done and they ...

Reflections on Life: Episode #1

Reflections on Life: The Peyton Manning Era from plugin2god on GodTube . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Reflections on Life" takes real life situations and applies them to the spiritual life, like modern-day parables. This episode discusses the end of Peyton Manning's career with the Indianapolis Colts and compares it with Jesus' death for us.

SEM Spelling Cards

This school year, my brothers and I are utilizing the curriculum created by Sonlight Education Ministry (SEM;  http://sonlighteducation.com/ ). It is an absolutely AWESOME program; I simply love it. It is Bible-based, -centered, and -directed. It cannot be rivaled even by a non-Christian curriculum (personal opinion). It is entirely obvious that the creators were led by God while putting together this program. At this time, they are out of business; but are working to put all of their material in a free-distribution format (PDFs, MP3s, etc.). That is actually how we obtained what we do have. They currently have three downloads available, and they are working on the fourth. Their catalogue ("Road Map and Route") outlines how the program works. In any case, in the first download, you can find a book entitled "Spelling from the Scriptures"; it is basically the spelling book. This is where you can find the beautiful spelling card...

The Human Design -- Awesome. Period.

"In the beginning was the WORD,... All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made (John 1:1, 3)." Below is a TED Talk that was presented in 2007 by David Bolinsky, a medical animator. In it, the speaker emphasizes two words: truth   and beauty . Immediately, I thought of the verse: "O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96:9)." Of course, it may not directly relate; but that's what I thought of. I also considered that God is truth, as pointed out in John 17:17 -- "Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth ." (Note: John 1 establishes for us that the Word is God; therefore, we may safely conclude that because the word is truth, God is truth.) The speaker also mentions with awe the magnificence of human structure, and notes how he feels like he could almost worship it. I would say to worship the Lord who made heaven and earth, the sea, and the fountains of water; the Lord who made you and me ...

Coping with the Way You Learn-- Part 1 of 3

Each of us is unique. Though we are made in the image of God-- meaning that we can share some of the attributes of God, such as holiness, justice, and love-- we are made individualistically. Universal, yet individual. One Creator, different DNA in each creation.      Because we are made differently, we will all think and learn differently also; however, because we are of the same Creator, we can generalize these different thought processes into three learning styles--  Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic. Now, the three foundational aspects in the life of an everyday Christian youth are academics, spirituality, and leadership. For this reason, the suggestions given will focus on these three facets. This week, we will focus on the visual learning style. School Life: To succeed academically as a visual learner, you can read whatever needs to be read and then write down what you understand or grasp on colorful post-its. If you own a textbook...
