Do You Know God?

Is it not peculiar to ask a Christian if he knows God? So why am I asking that on this a Christian blog? I want to present a challenge to you, and I hope that you will take it.  One day in the very near future, all will see God in all of His glory. Those who have beheld Him by faith will soon behold Him face to face. Those who have rejected Him will be slain by the brightness of His coming, as they are unaccustomed to His glory. Now here's the challenge: Prove God. Some of you have decided that you don't need to take God seriously. That's okay. That comes with age - choosing which concepts stay and which go. But there is a responsibility that comes with this brain sorting. You have an obligation to seriously evaluate everything that stays and everything that goes. I will not promise you that you will accept or reject Christianity; I can only promise you that you will be able to make an informed decision. And you will certainly come to know God. Just t...

MIX IT UP! - Granola

About one month ago, I endeavored to make granola on my own. My family loves granola so much that sometimes I wonder how many boxes we go through in a week... The two basic ingredients of this cereal -- oats and honey -- have medicinal properties. Because oats are high in fiber, you do not need a large serving to feel satisfied and stay full. Also, the fiber keeps the walls of your intestine squeaky clean, allowing your body to absorb the antioxidants (oat-unique avenanthramides ) contained in this awesome grain. In order to receive these benefits in their fullness, the grain should be cooked thoroughly for prime digestion. Accompanying this immune-booster is honey. A natural sweetener, honey is also anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and moisturizing. It generally has a glycemic index of fifty-five (55), and is even better when raw and largely unprocessed.  My son, eat honey because it is good, An...

Coping with the Way You Learn-- Part 1 of 3

Each of us is unique. Though we are made in the image of God-- meaning that we can share some of the attributes of God, such as holiness, justice, and love-- we are made individualistically. Universal, yet individual. One Creator, different DNA in each creation.      Because we are made differently, we will all think and learn differently also; however, because we are of the same Creator, we can generalize these different thought processes into three learning styles--  Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic. Now, the three foundational aspects in the life of an everyday Christian youth are academics, spirituality, and leadership. For this reason, the suggestions given will focus on these three facets. This week, we will focus on the visual learning style. School Life: To succeed academically as a visual learner, you can read whatever needs to be read and then write down what you understand or grasp on colorful post-its. If you own a textbook...
